Measurement Chart

for Jersey & T-Shir

🔍 Measuring from an Existing Jersey / Shirt

If you have a jersey or T-shirt you already like the fit of:

  1. Lay it flat on a table.

  2. Measure across armpit to armpit → double that for chest width.

  3. Measure from top shoulder seam down to bottom hem for length.

  4. Measure sleeve seam to wrist or end of sleeve.

  5. Compare these with your body measurements to see if it needs adjustment.

This “flat measurement method” is commonly used by many guides. Medium

🧩 Choosing the Right Fit & Style

  • Slim / Athletic Fit: More form-fitting; choose a size close to your measurements.

  • Regular / Classic Fit: More relaxed; easier for layering.

  • Oversized / Relaxed Fit: Go one size up if you like loose comfort.

If your measurements are between two sizes, here’s what to do:

  • For a close, athletic fit → pick the smaller size

  • For a relaxed fit or layering → pick the larger size

Also note: some fabrics may shrink a little after wash (especially cotton blends), so allow for that in your measurements.

🧷 Tips for Best Accuracy

  • Use a soft measuring tape, not a ruler or string.

  • Measure standing straight, relaxed (don’t flex or suck in).

  • Measure a couple of times to confirm consistency.

  • Ask someone to help — it’s harder to measure yourself.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: Should I measure over clothes or bare skin?
A: Ideally over a thin layer or no clothes, so the tape sits snugly but not tight.

Q: Does fabric type matter?
A: Yes. Stretchy fabrics (like spandex blends) may allow more wiggle room; non-stretch fabrics need precise fits.

Q: What if my chest and waist sizes don’t match one size?
A: Use the size based on your chest measurement (for better upper body fit) and consider tailoring waist if needed.

Q: Can I change my design placement based on measurements?
A: Absolutely. Providing exact sizes allows us to adjust print placement so it looks perfect on the final garment.
